Beginning of a New Era
Here it is, the beginning of my journey blogging on Bear!
Initially, this whole blogging experience was to be a way for my instructor to view my art-making process for the sculptures we create week to week.
We were instructed to
"blog your process and document your discoveries and iterations"
(or something like that)
But it made me want to explore blogging; I wanted to create a space for myself and others to discover my work and engage with a community. I looked around through multiple different blogging sites. Still, I wanted something simple and aesthetic, but ultimately something I would have control over without getting overwhelmed by plugins and random nonsense that I wouldn't need. I wanted to journal without feeling like I had to design something as well.
Though, must I say, the coding does scare me a bit
Yet! I'm taking it on as a challenge and something to explore that I can become more used to and feel proud of the process as time moves in my corner of the internet.
This is what Bear provided, and I am excited!
Additionally, I loved the idea, the simplicity, the community and the design! It's aesthetic and clean. I love how there is an audience, yet it also doesn't feel like it's being blasted for the world to see.
As an artist, I want to document my journey for myself but also have a platform to share my ideas with people if they wish.
How many people? I have no idea, nor do I ultimately care; I want to share a pocket of my life and join a community and see where it goes.
So I decided to sign on for a year from today and see how much I use this outside of my classwork blogs.
